Visit Greece – Visit Crete!

September was an interesting and full month. Some very interesting and delightful moments were:

The visit of a journalist of Switzerland the the opportunity to show our beloved city Heraklion, the capital of Crete. We had the opportunity to show our favorite places, the historical monuments and furthermore enjoy the Cretan cuisine.
An event arranged by the Archeological Museum of Heraklion in cooperation with Network of Cretan Winemakers. As September is the month of wine harvesting and production, I assume this gave way to the idea of a “marriage” between wine and mythology. The event took place in the premises of the museum on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September in the evening. Firstly, the archeologists presented the thematic route “The Roads of Wine at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion” with information about the cultivation, winemaking and storage etc. through the centuries. Afterwards, a wine tasting of different wines from different Cretan wineries took place in the garden of the museum. A joyful journey, where the past meets the present.
