November celebrations
November is the month of celebration after a rollercoaster season.
We did as much by arranging an excursion for the co-workers to the beautiful Mili Gorge in Rethymnon, combining it with a visit of the Military Museum nearby. The excursion has been a success and the gorge is beautiful to pass by, although sometimes challenging. Farewell and see each other in the new season 2024!
But here in Greece, November is also the month of celebrating wine. On 3rd November is the day of the Agios Georgios o Methystis (meaning St. George the drinker). They used this day to have a first glance to the new wine and taste it. In the villages they still celebrate it and taste each other’s wine. I’m positive this was the outcome for the “Wine Tourism Day” held always on the second Sunday in November. All the wineries are open to the public on these days with festivities. Not only are you able to see how the production is done, but also to taste wine and other delicacies and enjoying music, as well as meeting people with same interests.
