Egypt has an unusually hot, sunny and dry climate. Average temperatures are high in the north and extremely high in the rest of the country during summer when daytime temperatures can be over 40 °C and sometimes over 50 °C.
Egypt has a long history and dates back to one of the oldest civilizations known to mankind. Exemplified by the Great Pyramids, mummies covered in bandages and lost treasures awaiting discovery, this mysterious culture has fascinated visitors for centuries.
Egypt today mesmerises with its vast desert landscapes. It has the longest river in the world – the river Nile – the Red Sea, which is recognised as one of the top 5 dive destinations worldwide, and also houses a great number of cultural and historical sites waiting to be explored.

CAIRO

This ancient city and capital of Egypt has grown over the millennia. With a population of over 16 million people, Cairo is definitely a paradox. Old encounters new, the past the present and ancient traditions trendy culture. These contrasts make Cairo the fascinating city it is today. Don’t you want to find out which side you prefer?

Cairo, where the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the amazing Egyptian Museum are located, will take your breath away. The Egyptian Museum, which is the largest museum of ancient Egyptian times, presents treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun, statues of Ramses and his predecessors and much more.
In Old Cairo, time has stood still, and charm can be found in the fine detailed architecture, narrow winding streets and stunning views over the citadel. While strolling through these narrow streets, visitors can savour the aroma of ground coffee along with that of traditional shisha water pipes taking you back to the past. A highlight of a visit to Cairo is Khan el Khalili, the famous souk. Here, tradesman craft their merchandise on the doorsteps of family-owned businesses and give a glimpse into skills passed on through generations.
