GERMANY

Germany is bordered by Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In the north, it meets the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The country is well known for its magnificent architectural monuments, historical towns, famous industrial sights and amazing landscapes. Overall, 40 sights have been chosen as UNESCO world heritage. The destination includes more than 10,000 cities and towns, and the diverse flora and fauna make the landscape of Germany a unique place.

In Bavaria, in the south of Germany, you will find lots of castles, lakes and museums, as well as the Alps with wonderful hiking trails for every level. Neuschwanstein Castle, Zugspitze, Lake Chiemsee, the German Museum and the Residence in Munich are some of the highlights.

The central German uplands include many mountains, as well as regions such as the Erzgebirge, Harz, Thüringer Wald and Eifel. Its wonderful landscape makes it popular for active and walking holidays, suitable for all age groups.

In the north of Germany you can visit the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte. Close to this region are the most popular cities in Germany, Hamburg and Berlin. The Baltic Sea and the North Sea are unique destinations in Germany. The North Frisian Islands and the East Frisian Islands, like Rügen, Sylt, Amrum and Helgoland, are some of the highlights in this area.
